Lucia Fernandes

Lucia Fernandes is a Feline Behavior and Environmental Enrichment Specialist (CoE, Oplex Certified) and the founder of Better Cat Behavior. With hundreds of cases supporting families through science-based, compassionate approaches, she specializes in litter box problems, anxiety, environmental enrichment, and the emotional lives of indoor cats.

Lucia is the author of The Litter Box Solution, a behavior-based framework for cats with persistent elimination problems, and Scratching Solved, an enrichment-based guide to understanding and redirecting feline scratching behavior. A third title, The Advanced Play Handbook, is currently in development.

Before specializing in feline behavior, Lucia spent five years studying music production in London. Her background in sound design and acoustic environments continues to shape her work, she is currently developing original compositions designed specifically to reduce feline stress, support relaxation, and create calmer home environments for indoor cats. Her work is grounded in the belief that behavior is communication, and that most feline challenges are resolved not through correction, but through understanding.
